Case No. 35/2017: University of Kelaniya
NOTIFICATION to the
Sri Lankan Ministry of Education
On November 28, 2017, the International Buddhist Ethics Committee & Buddhist Tribunal on
Human Rights communicates with the Sri
Lankan Ministry of Education following the Judgment that has been made
against the University of Kelaniya
for the crimes of Plagiarism and Violation of Cultural Heritage, which was
sentenced from the event that this University has plagiarized the discipline of
"Buddhist Psychoanalysis"
developed by the Maitriyana Community. Although the University of Kelaniya was offered permission to teach this
discipline on the condition that they recognize the authorship of the genuine
creators, its members have refused and have decided to ignore the Buddhist Law
system, even though they technically are a Buddhist University.
The International
Buddhist Ethics Committee & Buddhist Tribunal on Human Rights clearly
considers that the Sri Lankan Ministry of Education should mediate in
this conflict and supervise that the University
of Kelaniya does not commit crimes. The International Buddhist Ethics Committee & Buddhist Tribunal on
Human Rights requests the Sri Lankan
Ministry of Education to intervene and recommend the University of Kelaniya to ask for public apologies for their
infractions against the intangible cultural heritage of the Maitriyana
Community.
With spirit of Reconciliation (Maitri),
H.E. Master Maitreya Samyaksambuddha
President and Judge of the International Buddhist Ethics Committee & Buddhist Tribunal on
Human Rights
