Case
No. 33/2017: MRW
ETHICAL JUDGMENT
Dear Prosecutor, Public Defender,
Ambassador and Jury Members of the International
Buddhist Ethics Committee (IBEC) and Buddhist
Tribunal on Human Rights (BTHR), with respect of Case 33-2017 against the
company "MRW", on
September 7, 2017, it is hereby recorded that the trial of the Ethics Committee
has been concluded to analyze the violation of Buddhist Ethics and Human Rights
by the accused.
After the analysis of the
presentation of the Case and the validation of evidence, the Jury has proceeded
with voting of 11 members, confirming that there were 4 votes of
"Insanity" and 7 votes of "Responsible"
for the Spanish company called "MRW"
for the serious crimes of Fraud and Violation of Cultural Heritage.
By interpreting and giving voice to the vote of members, it is concluded that
although the MRW’s member who sent
the message would certainly suffer a psychopathological disorder that deserves
the clinic-legal terminology of Insanity,
the "MRW" company
undoubtedly deserves to be declared as "Responsible",
since not only has not expelled its employee or member but also never requested
the corresponding public apologies for this act of Fraud and Violation
of Cultural Heritage. In this way, the International Buddhist Ethics Committee has implemented the
jurisprudence used in the "Wix &
Weebly Case", again considering that private companies around the
world have no right to attack the Buddhist Communities with impunity. These
acts demonstrate that the "MRW"
company is within the framework of illegality at the international level. However,
in case "MRW" company
eventually publicly apologizes and repairs the damage caused, but it would fire
the member or employee who committed the crime as well, then a post-sentence reconciliation agreement
would have been reached, being eventually cancelled all charges against the
company. Until this happens, the International
Buddhist Ethics Committee declares that "MRW" company is "Responsible"
for Fraud
and Violation of Cultural Heritage.
The Buddhist Law pays Full
Attention to the practice of the adequate word, which not only implies
abstention from insult and disqualification but also abstention from dishonesty
and deception. This means that the Maitriyana is opposed to the contemporary cultural
age, which is based on covering up and manipulation of the Truth. For this
reason, the spiritual master clarifies that lying is not only a fundamental
feature of politics and economics, but is also the fundamental feature of the
current culture of social networks. The
Buddhist Law criticizes the contemporary world for being governed more by
appearance than by Truth, which means that in the civilization of mass media
what appears to be Truth ends up being more important than objective facts.
Thus, absurdities, prejudices, falsehoods and lies are uncontrollably sustained
by governors, businessmen and ordinary citizens, all of whom contribute to
positioning social communication networks as the platform for spreading the
greatest cultural deceptions of history. Although the Free and Enlightened
Beings (Arhats-Bodhisattvas) are beyond the opposite poles, the Maitriyana is
certainly not an accomplice in how the populist regimes and inhuman companies
daily distort the distinction between what is true and false. The tradition of
Buddhist Law is an ethical authority with sufficient credentials to denounce
this prevailing double discourse, which maintains
the status quo in the name of change and does harm in the name of good. By
not being based on mundane beliefs, passions or interests, the Maitriyana is
positioned itself as a counterculture, denouncing populism and capitalism as
systems that are based on deceit and lies, as they form a cultural system
hiding the Truth in a systematic and widespread way, manipulating society by
means of false premises. In a declining world, the product of the savage
processes of capitalist accumulation, populism seems to be the only way to keep
inequality without being accountable: taking ownership from left-wing Discourse
and governing with right-wing actions. In order to do this, populism often
turns politics into religion, as well as religion into politics, as is the case
in the United States and the Vatican. In effect, the rulers of the world do not
seek the antidote to poverty and social injustice, for, by definition, every
ruler never seeks the Liberation of his people, but rather dominion and
subjugation, which can be done both by violent force and by the manipulative
word. However, in face of this contemporary era of deceit, Buddhist Law
paradoxically flourishes as a form of ethical and liberating counterculture,
embodying the peak knowledge in the face of the prevalence of lies and
deception of social networks. In this sense, spiritual masters must be the
beacon of a new civilization where the Truth and lie are clearly distinguished.
Without falling into intellectualism, the Maitriyana assumes the responsibility
of serving as outcome or starting point for a world based on compassionate
wisdom (karuna-prajña), proposing solutions to the problems of the world that
are perpetuated by populist politics, capitalist economy and manipulative
religion. Therefore, the Buddhist Law expresses the voice of humanity's
consciousness.
In conclusion, the International Buddhist Ethics Committee
has the Purpose (Dharma) to purify the world through unveiling the illusions
and lies that suppress the event of Truth, which implies a direct criticism to
the companies performing manipulations and frauds. Therefore, it is established
that the "MRW" is
violating the cultural rights of the Buddhist People. Undoubtedly, companies
should carry out philanthropic activities instead of carrying out attacks and
crimes, not only because this is the right thing, but also for purely pragmatic
reasons, because companies like "MRW"
when doing this kind of activities the only thing they achieve is to acquire a
bad reputation. In this way, the Case on the "MRW" is a great teaching for the Truth to predominate,
instead of deceit and fraud, which violate human rights.
Following the Path of Master
Gautama, who developed a Path of
Evanescence (Nirvana) of illusions, the International Buddhist Ethics Committee oversees the companies not
to attack the material and immaterial heritage of the Spiritual Communities
(Sanghas), so that "MRW"
has been sentenced as "Responsible"
for FRAUD
and VIOLATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE.
With spirit of reconciliation
(maitri),
Master Maitreya Samyaksambuddha
President and Spiritual Judge of
the International Buddhist Ethics
Committee (IBEC) and Buddhist Tribunal on Human Rights (BTHR)
